The Coober Pedy Fire Brigade was supported in a fundraising event hosted by the Coober Pedy Progress Association. Albert McCormack recalls it was a dance and gala auction and it was held to raise funds for the purchase of a Bedford Water truck.
Albert McCormack remembers it was at this time the State Government funded a water pipeline operating from the water works down Hutchison St which included the installation of 3 Hydrants.
