Mr. Andrew (Andy) Sheils received an Emergency Services Medal on the 26th January 2003 in recognition of his ‘Distinguished services as a member of an Australian Emergency Organisation’. The medal was given on behalf of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Andy was recognised for his leadership and services given to the Coober Pedy Mine Rescue/SES Unit over many years.
